1990 - Graboid

A personal ongoing homage to my favorite creature design in film.
I’ll be drawing what I consider the coolest creatures (and the occasional robot or costume) in films (and sometimes tv) from every year since the 90’s to the present.

I loved this movie as a kid and rented it several times on VHS. The creature’s design strucks a perfect balance between simplicity and detail, it feels like a plausible very primitive man-eating giant worms.The recent straight to DVD sequels went for a more dynamic CGI look with intricate outer anatomy, which just proves that sometimes less is more.⁣⁣⁣
